Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Long before the farm-to-table trend invaded America, Louisa’s espoused this philosophy, and served food to match. The tiny-but-iconic eatery was established in 1980 and has been dishing out incredibly fresh and delicious food in the small historic yellow building ever since.     We had a wonderful experience at this venue. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the Mistletoe Martini was divine. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family

    We had not been to Louisa’s in many years in spite of having a home here. We were very happy to rediscover it! The scallops and flounder were both delicious. Service was also great. It’s a small, intimate little BYOB. It’s happily back on our regular list !

    This restaurant is always good. We go there often since we have a second home in Cape May and have NEVER been let down. The Manager is excellent, hard working and making sure everything is always to perfection. The food is excellent and the staff is always very gracious. I highly recommend.

    I was so grateful that the Blue Pig Tavern honored my requests for seating by putting my partner and I at the table we hoped for, off in the corner of the room with the fireplace. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and warm and everyone treated us so kindly. What a special anniversary dinner. (Also, the pumpkin pie with cranberry drizzle was one of the best desserts I've ever had).
