I didn’t see anything regarding the kitchen being which led me to not be able to book anywhere else to be able to get a real meal in. Overall it was ok.More infoPali Wine Co.Price: Moderate• Wine Bar• Anaheim•4.7
- RRyanOrange County •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoCame for Valentine's and was a little surprised at first when we were notified days after making the reservation that it was a fixed menu, but the food and care they gave was outstanding. An unassuming little restaurant that looks almost like a cafe was a fantastic experience of Italian cuisine made with love and not off a processed assembly line. The lobster ravioli was incredible, as was the mushroom soup and Caesar salad. The meatballs were so full of flavor, I'd go back just for them. We all tasted each other's foods, and couldn't decide which was best. The garlic pasta, pork chops and filet were amazing. Definitely going back to taste off the regular menu.More infoDa Bianca TrattoriaPrice: Moderate• Italian• Orange•4.9
- WWillemVIPOrange County •13 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoThis is one restaurant that doesn't cram extra tables into small spaces to handle additional customers on Valentine's Day, sacrificing quality and a good experience. We had a wonderful dinner. Everything here is always really good, but we're really partial to the steaks. We both ordered the 5 oz filet mignons and shared the potted twice-baked potatoes and the grilled asparagus. We sent a message back to the kitchen that this was the first time we had EVER had perfectly prepared asparagus! The desserts were great, the service was terrific, and the whole experience was immensely satisfying.More infoOceans & EarthPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Placentia / Yorba Linda•4.8
- RrobertOrange County •57 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoIt was a rainy night. We were met at the door by several members of staff, who handled everyone's coats and hats efficiently. This staff is excellent on every visit, and tonight was no exception. Do you avoid dining out on Valentine's day or near the 14th? Are the restuarants generally overburdened? Forget about that and dine at the Hobbit. Their routine for Valentine's day, while offering a slightly different menu, remains the same. They are not overwhelmed, because they only handle as many people as will attend one seating. The experience is preceded by a cocktail hour - then to table at 7 p.m. An amuse bouche of "three perfect bites", which are accompanied by a complimentary glass of champagne. The opening this time was a Hamachi crudo, that was plated perfectly, and delivered a wonderful amalgam of green apple, cucumber, tangerine and a tarragon oil opening. The second course, a crepe a la duck confit, worried my partner who does not favor duck. She loved the crepe and the duck confit! Very smooth and subtle. My filet with a bone marrow bordelaise was perfect, rare, as I love good beef. We accompanied our meal with an excellent 2005 Bordeau from Pauillac purchased from the well stocked wine cellar. The service was impeccable, and the entire serving staff assisted at one time or another to insure prompt service without hovering. I have been here many times, and you cannot go wrong dining at the Hobbit on any occasion.More infoThe HobbitPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Orange•4.7
