I love le pigeon - it was one of the main reasons why I chose Portland for our family vacation

Love the way this spot is somewhat a hidden jewel. We sat at the bar and the fun and knowledgeable service was tops. That chicken liver mousse pate was like butter;smooth and perfectly seasoned. I want more! Next we had the sturgeon, cauliflower and gnocchi. All was superb. I want to go back next week. Not a thing was less than 5 stars.

When we travel from Seattle to Portland we always try to have a dinner at Nostrana, The food is simply prepared and perfect every time we have had dinner. They serve a wide range of people from dating couples to oldsters like us. Drinks and wine also very well chosen and well prepared. Service is attentive. Be sure to get a reservation ! Each dish was creatively designed, thoughtfully executed and presented in a way that made sense from an aesthetic standpoint in addition to functionality around which would be individually plated vs family style. The space was cozy but not cramped and a portable speaker in the restroom creates a vibe for anyone using the facilities. 10/10, no notes.

We dine here almost weekly. They are consistently great and hence we go back. We’ve been going for a couple years now and every meal was just as expected. They have specials in the weekends and some seasonal menu changes. Drinks are made correctly. Staff are hard workers and stay. I notice when staff stay with an employer in the restaurant business-it says a lot for the chef/owner. I always recommend Avanti to people I know who want a great meal without an upcharge for ambience. You aren’t paying for a view or fine linens here-you are here for the food and drinks. The service is top notch.
