- DDeborahOrange County •1 review4.0Dined todayLanter's Edge has beautiful views, there is no disputing that. We were there for breakfast. Our table was dirty and at least one coffee mug had something stuck inside it. Being that our party ranged in age from 61 to 90, none of us had enough of an appetite to have either the regular or special brunch ($45 to $73 each.) We were given a limited menu to order off of and four of us had the eggs benedict - delicious!! One had the Monte Cristo and said it was also delicious. We all had coffee and found it to be much like they serve in the upstairs bar area - water with a hint of coffee taste. It was the same with the regular and decaf and would definitely skip it next time since $45 each, for a total bill of $220 (20% tip included whether the service was good or not), seemed a bit high for the quantity and quality. The restaurant is WAAAAAAYYYYY to noisy for our age range. Every one talking loud, doors opening and closing constantly (bringing in the cold air) and dishes clanking (or crashing to the ground at the table across from us.) Would probably choose a local restaurant next time. The in-room dining was very disappointing. The fish taco's were good, but the tomato bisque was way too salty (and no spoon to eat it with) and the kids chicken fingers were over cooked and over salted. Disappointed in the number of options for sure. We received the requested pitcher of ice water, however the glasses were too dirty to drink from. This is still such a beautiful hotel and the staff are all very nice. I have been staying here for at least 20 years and will stay there again without hesitation.More infoLantern’s EdgePrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Dana Point / Monarch Beach•4.4

First off, I have to rave about the service - everyone from the host to our servers made our first day at the Ritz Laguna so special. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, taking time to walk us through the menu and make great recommendations. You can tell they really care about making sure you have the best experience possible. The food was absolutely outstanding! We started with their guacamole with spicy crab which is a must-try - trust me, it's not your regular guac! The skirt steak was cooked perfectly and so flavorful, and those truffle fries on the side were addictively good. I went for the seafood enchiladas which were incredible, packed with fresh seafood. Even the kids' menu impressed us - my daughter loved her mac and cheese (and she's pretty picky!). The passion fruit mojitos were fantastic too - super refreshing and not too sweet. Perfect for a lunch with that amazing ocean view! The menu has tons of variety, and based on everything we tried, you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The staff's knowledge of every dish really helped us make great choices. We loved our lunch experience so much that we already booked dinner reservations for later this week! If you're staying at the Ritz or just in the area, definitely make RAYA a priority. The combination of incredible food, amazing service, and beautiful setting made it a highlight of our first day here. Worth every penny for such a special dining experience!More infoRAYA at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna NiguelPrice: Expensive• Latin American• Aliso Viejo / Laguna Niguel•4.7
- MMeghanOrange County •3 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe made reservations for our anniversary. We were seated at our table and proceeded to the bar to order some happy hour cocktails. They were strong and delicious. Our server was very kind, funny, and helpful with us making our menu decisions. I had the prime rib and my husband had the prosciutto wrapped salmon. Both were amazing. My husband had the fixed price meal with soup, the salmon, and lava cake for dessert. We were comped a delicious slice of mud pie for our anniversary dessert. The food and service were overall excellent, and the views are unmatched! We will be back for happy hour in the bar!More infoChart House Restaurant - Dana PointPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Dana Point / Monarch Beach•4.4

If you think you don't like vegetables, you have to come try Mayfield - it is amazing what they can do with carrots or cabbage or sweet potatoes! And their fried chicken is the best!More infoMayfield- San Juan CapistranoPrice: Expensive• Californian• San Juan Capistrano•4.8
