Scalini Fedeli was opened by chef-owner Michael Cetrulo in 1995 and very quickly became New Jersey's highest rated Italian restaurant. Set in an historic building built in 1740, the atmosphere is slightly formal with Tuscan style vaulted ceilings finished with Venetian plaster. Tapestry and antique mirrors adorn the walls.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Chef Fredy's and greatly enjoyed ourselves. My wife is gluten free, and they were able to make nearly everything on the menu available to her. The scallops appetizer and stuffed salmon entree were delicious. The gluten free bacon appetizer and duck were outstanding. The desserts were also very tasty. The ambiance was great. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

As always the food wine and ambience was excellent. Salvatore ensures that you are treated well. This night however due to a waiter that was fairly new to the establishment, things did not go as smoothly as in the past. Our service was inconsistent, varying between very good and needing improvement. He did try however. I do believe that once he has been there for a longer period of time he will fit right in.
