The White Oak prides itself on offering a diverse selection of wines, beers, cask ales and ciders. Located in Binfield Heath, Henley on Thames. Orwells' Kitchen is headed up by Michelin starred chef Ryan Simpson & Liam Trotman. The aim is to source the best produce available locally and beyond to prepare delicious dishes with no fuss to let the quality of the produce shine. The kitchen takes a rural approach combined with modern cooking. The restaurants' been recognised in all the major guides and have continued to hold 4AA rosettes consecutively for 8 years. We have a nice relaxing lounge area and the atmosphere is cosy and classy. The garden area has great views and is open on warm days for dining. We are also dog friendly.Orwells offers a choice of Al a carte, Wednesday - Sunday alongside a Tasting menu.The Lunch menu runs from Wednesday to Sunday, its £45 for 2 courses and £55 for three courses.     A beautiful warm and inviting country pub, complimented by exceptional service and incredible food. We walked from Henley through Harpsden Woods into Shiplake and enjoyed a fantastic lunch. Couldn’t fault anything. We have dined all over the area and it is so rare to find a place that delivers on all fronts. Cost, ambience, service and food second to none. Can not recommend enough and can’t wait for our next visit!

    Yet another great meal at The Crown, Burchetts Green. Our first visit was Sunday lunch, and this time we opted for their monthly Thai night, where we had a set menu of 5 courses. Amazing chicken, lemongrass and chilli soup, sweetcorn fritters, tuna carpaccio (that one was v spicy) and superb pork, rice and hispi cabbage, with a coconut and kafir lime ice cream to finish. Good value for the quality - and quantity - we received. We used to live in Singapore and this menu took us right back to the authentic thai from that country and our travels. Chef Dominic Chapman is the backbone of this country pub and he deserves high praise for what he and his team produce and serve. We will be going back!

    Great food, solid portions and lovely attentive staff. Food is priced well on the whole - Sunday roast you can request as many bottomless sides as required but you get a healthy amount to start. Question marks over the drinks pricing however, £5.50 for diet cokes is a bit OTT for me!
