In the heart of Marietta Square, Mac's Chophouse is a modern-vintage revival of the classic American steakhouse. Our menu highlights a thoughtful approach to locally-sourced ingredients and hearty, flavor-rich cuisine. We distinctly pair choice cuts of USDA Prime steak, sustainable seafood, and decadent desserts with a highly-curated bar program of craft cocktails, premium reserve wines, and an extensive bourbon selection. All is further complemented by the atmosphere - reminiscent of a Prohibition-era speakeasy and enveloped in the picturesque landscape of historic downtown.

Clark and Schwenk, friends over the years, discussed starting a place of their own and traded ideas over what the menu would be like. Finally, at the beginning of 2007, they felt ready to strike out on their own and made that vision happen. “I looked around Atlanta and saw a need for a really good old-school restaurant,” Clark says. That restaurant would become C&S Oyster Bar, specializing in classic New York and Paris brasserie-style cuisine. Clark possesses a passion for French cuisine and claims that it comes from the French’s appreciation for balance. Their focus on vegetables, fish, and meat as the primary vehicles of flavor allow for emphasis to be placed on the freshness of the ingredients.Proper attire required. Nan Thai is an excellent Thai restaurant. Food quality is superb..service is wonderful. That said, it is an expensive restaurant! Diners beware!! Our dining experience was diminished by the add- on charges that were placed on our bill. We were offered still or sparking water. We chose still water. we were charged $6.00 for 3 glass of still water? A 20% gratuity was automatically added to the entire bill. Really!. Note: the 20% gratuity was based on the food cost of $263.00 + taxes of $23.41, +20% tip of $57.28 which brought the total to $343.69. I have been a restaurant waiter at various times during my life. I understand that tipping has changed. It was understood (until recent years) that the tip was based on a percentage of the total food purchased, not the liquor fee and the tax. I realize that in recent years tipping guidelines have changed. I normally calculate a 15% tip of the grand total food, liquor, and tax. To have an automatic 20% gratuity added to the entire bill resulting in a $57.28 tip was outrageous! I would have disputed the bill when it was presented, however I did not want my dining guests to be uncomfortable with the situation! Needless to say, despite the excellent food, good service I will not be returning anytime soon! I am not cheap nor do I like to be taken advantage of by add-ons of still water and 20% automatic tip added to the entire bill.

The last time my wife and I were at this location was when it was still Shilling's On The Square, a place where we spent many happy hours. So January 2 being our wedding anniversary, we decided to take a "sentimental journey" to the new place. We were delighted with everything, from the drinks at the bar to the entree to the complimentary dessert and champagne they gave us to mark the occasion. My wife had the shrimp and grits, I had the lamb chops along with a shared side with brussels sprouts and cauliflower; both excellent. Our waiter Ramon was friendly and attentive. All in all a delightful experience we would recommend to anyone.
