Osteria Giulia sprung to life in our imaginations as a tribute to Italian traditions of the past. We wanted to create one simple, beautiful thing. Somewhere outside of your busy life, outside of your surroundings, outside of time. An environment, an experience, an entire evening. Osteria Giulia is intimate, warm and familiar. We’ve revelled in her every detail. We’ve established a rarified menu focusing on Northern Italian cuisine and delicate coastal, Mediterranean flavour. Giulia is a new imagining of what an Italian restaurant can be. It always was the place of our dreams, the reason for our collaboration, and the culmination of—and conduit for—our collective passion. They had plenty of vegetarian options. Tried the beetroot labneh and the vegan kibbeh. They were great! Also, their date cake is amazing!

We experienced a wonderful three course prix fixe dinner for two offered through Winterlicious, but Amano regularly offers special 'experiences' and menus. Three courses and we could (almost) not finish the generous portions :D Plus, there are delicious options for gluten free or vegetarian customers. We thoroughly enjoyed a couple of signature cocktails to start: Gazzoza Smash and Torino 1786. The sauce for the branzini was to die for, and pairing it with rappini was genius. The porchetta was perfectly cooked, so tender, with fantastic flavour. Tiramisu is sublime - light and yet so flavourful. Pavlova is decadent and light at the same time-the blueberry sorbet is a taste bomb! Finishing with excellent decaf cappuccino was a treat and a deal at only $6 (take THAT Starbucks!). Overall a great dining experience in a classy, comfortable, quiet atmosphere.

Supberb lunch. Simply excellent food. Unobtrusive service. Not noisy at all. The design of the place is pleasant, though it seems uncertain just what it wants to project. A lounge? Casual meets formal? There's an underlying calculated sterility to it, as though the design has been used and copied from elsewhere. Still, a lovely and memorable lunch.
