We used this dinner to introduce four friends — all with significant “foodie” bona fides — to Takoi and they were all blown away. The theme is dominantly Thai. I am cautious about introducing the word, “fusion,” because it has been so bastardized. But Takoi revives the original meaning, staying true to its roots while adding distinctive new flavor tones and textures that can take you by surprise. From start to finish, each dish seemed to outdo the prior one, from the carrots to the noodles to the sea bream. The decor is beautiful with the green walls continuing the theme of chartreuse, the liqueur that is available for those who care to imbibe. We had several appetizers/small plates and each one was beautifully prepared and tasty. Loved the mushroom risotto, beet salad, lamb meatballs, halloumi, and two desserts, a vanilla pudding and a delicious chocolate thing. Service was competent and friendly.
