- CCathyvipPittsburgh / Western PA •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoSuper fun upscale but homey soul food. Recommend the chicken liver and waffles and corn bread. The beet salad with a rich creamy dressing was both light with amazing herbs and hearty. We had excellent recommendations for wine along with dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the retro ambiance and dishes too. My partner said one of the plates they served food on was what their parents had when they were a kid!More infoBurdellPrice: Very Expensive• Soul food• Oakland•4.5
- LLisavipGreater Boston •23 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe loved the gas fireplace that looked very realistic and being beside the kitchen to see all the delicious meals coming up. The squash leaves appetizer was excellent as was the primi piatti seafood risotto. The 6 of us were all delighted with our meals and look forward to returning next time we're in the Bay Area.More infoAgrodolcePrice: Moderate• Italian• Berkeley•4.3

- AAdrienneSan Diego •2 reviews5.0Dined on 24 Nov 2024We celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday with a brunch. Twelve happy and well-fed people! We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed incredible food, a jazz ensemble, and a wonderful ambiance. We loved the ricotta pancakes, shrimp toast, and huevos rancheros. Everything was perfect!!More infoBabettePrice: Expensive• Californian• Berkeley•4.8
- MMargotSan Francisco Bay Area •7 reviews5.0Dined on 24 Nov 2024You will become addicted to the creative fresh, organically-grown, sustainable delectables, all for ridiculously modest prices given the quality and presentation. While it is labeled a bar, this is some of the best eats in the Bay Area, and I am super picky, having had free access to Alice Water's cuisine for years and several chefs in the family. But the place itself is gorgeous. The architects, David Soffa and Teresa Clarke are Berkeley's counterpart to Julia Morgan. The four wood and glass panels leading to the trumpetvine patio are reminiscent of Morgan's balcony doors in her house on Haste Street, but with an added elegant flourish. The pattern of the varnished wood floors in that room is exquisite. One should note all the hanging lamps, the marvellous tile work over the bar and all the rare marble. There are surprise touches, stained glass, a future art gallery in the hall and the kind of bathroom only high end hotels offer. Roses has a few rooms and every kind of seating you could desire while making it all look complimentary and beautiful: a large red satin-like booth welcomes guests at separate tables, luxurious nooks, high tops as well as a couch area. Such a treasure. I've been taking all my friends there for special occasions and they love it. It's a new bar/food venue with more increasing entertainment that is gaining popularity fast so enjoy before the lines start spilling onto the street!More infoRoses on AdelinePrice: Moderate• Californian• Berkeley•4.8
