French Quarter Bistro was opened in 2018 in the heart of Frenchtown by Ed and Amoi Foerstel due to their love of all cuisine, Cajun. Creole is derived from the many cultures who have settled in New Orleans, including; French, Spanish, West African, Caribbean, German, Italian, and Irish. Cajun is derived from the French-speaking Acadians who settled in the bayous south of New Orleans. The influences of the French are the most prominent of both cuisines. Almost all of our Creole and Cajun dishes begin with a stock (poultry, beef, or seafood), trinity (onions, green bell peppers, celery), and a roux (blonde, brown, or dark), lending a unique flavor to our Gumbo and other dishes.     The place is absolutely beautiful! Great location, great design indoor and outdoor. Menu is good plenty of options, mocktails are amazing! We had to send back a steak that was over cooked, the server knew it when he brought it out. No big deal, fixed and delicious.

    Probably the best meal we’ve had on our two trips to the island. Beautiful and small venue with outstanding sunset views. The tuna tartar appetizer special was outstanding as was the lobster ceviche which came with some very nicely done root chips. The Chilean sea bass entree was expertly cooked and the filet was nice as well. We opted for dessert and it didn’t disappoint.

    One of the best happy hours on the island! Rawkin tacos are a must! Maki rolls are awesome Tofu bowl is our go to for getting filled up. Miso soup is excellent All the specialty rolls are off the charts
