Established in 1959, owners Jenny Youll and Mike Sabina expanded the once small coffeehouse of St. Michaels Alley into this intimate dining establishment in 2009. The restaurant provides three comfortable spaces for a dinner out with friends, date night, or a complete private event. The main dining room is wood paneled and intimate. The front room / bar area is more casual and social, yet still offers tables with linens and the full menu. The solid wood bar is a favorite dining spot for many of the regulars and locals.     It was a good dinner. I got the escargots, it was really tasty and it was great it came with a piece of bread 🥖. Next I got the short ribs, it was a little bit too salty for me, the gratin dauphinois and the mushrooms were great. For the dessert I got the mousse au chocolat it was excellent but a little bit heavy for my stomach. The restaurant is quite dark and the others tables were too close, you can easily follow discussions from others tables.

    Our family enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner here. Thank you so much Jessica for being so accommodating to our adjustments and welcoming! Jennifer, our server, for table 33 was amazing! She was so attentive, friendly and truly brought the joy and warmth of Christmas to us all. The food was so tasty, from the meatballs, the crab cakes, the lamb chops and dry aged ribeye. The cheesecake was delicious as well. It was all cooked to perfection and presented very well. The bottle of Meiomi paired well with the meats. It was truly a great experience. Thank you so much Jennifer and everyone who contributed to our night. Merry Christmas!🎄🎁

    Osteria is a gem of a restaurant. It has an excellent menu, a wonderful old world ambiance and professional staff. We really appreciated the soft background holiday music that made our table conversation effortless. The salads, pastas and the hazelnut flan were all so enjoyable. Che buono!
