Taft and Mexican President Porfirio Díaz met for a summit in the El Paso-Juarez border; the land commonly known as El Chamizal. Flags were lowered and the borderland remained neutral territory. A traditional, conservative luncheon was hosted by President Taft at the El Paso Chamber of Commerce followed by an opulent dinner served and presented by President Díaz in the Old Federal Customs building in Juarez.     Wait staff was a little inattentive, took food we hadn't finished and stacked the plates before we could ask for a to-go box. Food was excellent, great portions. We were sat near the kitchen which appeared to be the wait staff prep area? Kind of weird having people folding napkins and sorting silverware while staring at us.

    The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Caprese salad and the beef tenderloin.. Perfecto! My friends both had the puntas de filete and a salad. They said it was fabulous. Our waiter was very efficient and helpful. The wine list was a little pricey but ithe wine was very good. The chocolate cake quite yummy and we started our evening at the bar with excellent dirty gin martinis. It was worth every bit of our eye opening bill.
