Best Date Night Restaurants in Dovercourt Village

Our family had a reservation at GIA, but at the last minute, our two younger teens decided to join us. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, the management/owner went out of their way to accommodate the change. Their effort allowed us to all dine together, turning the evening into a truly special family get-together. On top of being together, the food was absolutely incredible—it added so much to the experience! Thank you, GIA, for going above and beyond to make it a memorable family night. From the moment we stepped into DaNico, we were struck by how beautiful the space was. The high ceilings, artwork, and dark colour tones created a dramatic and refined atmosphere. It felt like the perfect setting for a special evening. The attention to detail extended to the glassware and plateware, which were both elegant and intriguing, adding an extra layer of charm to the dining experience. The service was impeccable. From the moment we entered, the staff were warm, attentive, and thoroughly professional. When confirming our reservation, we mentioned a dietary restriction, and to our delight, our server was already aware of it when greeting us. They thoughtfully provided tailored suggestions, which made us feel genuinely cared for. As for the food, every dish showcased incredible depth of flavour and texture. The creativity in the menu was evident and much appreciated, making each bite a delight to savour. The cocktail menu had a great mix of creative drinks, and I loved that there were some really interesting non-alcoholic options too. As someone who is dairy-free, dessert is often an afterthought at most restaurants, but DaNico surprised us with dairy-free desserts that were both indulgent and satisfying—a rare and much-appreciated treat! Overall, DaNico delivered on all fronts—ambiance, service, and cuisine. It was a memorable experience.

Another incredible experience at Daphne!! I went twice in one week during my trip to Toronto and it could not have been more perfect. I stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the tuna carpaccio, seafood pasta, and truffle fries. Michael, Amanda, and Lou were so attentive and friendly. I can truly say Daphne has been the highlight of my trip! What an amazing start to the new year!

I only have great things to say about Levant! It was one of the first restaurants we visited after the lockdown. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and had a meal as fantastic as the hospitality. We recently had occasion to visit again - the experience did not disappoint. Our server was attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful in choosing dishes to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The cocktails were refreshing and novel. The baba ganoush was deliciously smokey and enough that we came home with leftovers. My partner and I both enjoyed our (not) pizzas. The crust is reminiscent of pan pizza from your childhood with flavour combinations that highlight the best of middle eastern fare. I cannot recommend Levant enough!

The service and ambiance was great. Notable dishes were the challah and fluke and fennel. The fries were perfectly crispy and the broccoli was very flavourful. However, the ribeye was average, it lacked flavour but cooked properly yo medium rare.
