Best Restaurants for Creative Cuisine in Elizabeth

Amazing experience- a beautiful restaurant with great service and delicious food. Highest marks to Chef Brian Walter and GM Amanda Maloney for a flawless Valentine's Day dinner experience. Despite a sold-out dining room attention was high, noise level low and service was on point and attentive. The cocktails were delicious- even the mocktails were created with an eye toward flavor and complexity. We both loved the meal- the standout was the vegetarian caviar amuse bouche, the ox and egg and black tie scallop appetizers, and delicious entrees of stuffed quail and olive-crusted dorade. We will be returning.

We had no plans for Valentines Day (silly me) so I checked Open Table for a local seafood restaurant. I was expecting everything to be booked but there were several available reservations so I took a chance. They did not disappoint. Quiet and cozy is the best way to describe the establishment. I had the Shrimp in garlic sauce as an appetizer and the Codfish potatoes and peppers as an entree. I’m not big on seafood when I eat out but this was the best I’ve had. We will be returning for date nights. A definite hidden gem. PS: I don’t drink but I hear the Sangria is amazing.

Dinner for two. Outstanding dish was butter chicken. Will definitely return.

My favorite restaurant on SI. The eggplant parm with the spicy vodka pasta is amazing. We also had a gorgonzola and apple salad and octopus appetizer that everyone enjoyed and the wait staff was a 10. When the table wanted a bottle of red wine they came over and thoroughly explained all of the options, region grown and gave samples of each to try. Definitely recommend for date night, GNO, anything at all.
