In 1914, the Biltmore opened and served up breakfast and brew at 7AM for the overnight crews from nearby factories. It came with a 4 lane basement bowling alley that was a local hangout for decades.There was talk of a speakeasy during prohibition. The Biltmore was across the street from a regional rail stop and often hosted private events for dignitaries, politicians and celebrities.Much of original brick front and interior has remained the same over the many reincarnations of this legendary bar. The original old growth wood flooring has stood up to many timeless celebrations as well.     Fantastic new addition to Wellesley dining! Cauliflower Au Gratin and Pasta with mushrooms and truffle delicious. A perfect Vesper Martini. Attentive staff. Love the space rehabbed from a CVS.. the barrel vault ceiling gives it a modern Italian vibe. Large upbeat bar scene makes you want to come back and just hang out. Best of all.. plenty of space between tables and up tempo music so you cannot have a neighboring table eaves dropping. My one pet peeve is businesses that cram tables too close together and a party of two has no privacy. Not the case here. Thankfully they have thought of everything at Black and Blue.

    This restaurant is an example of classic excellence. The food was delicious and the menu had something for everyone. The service could not be better; not too fast and not slow at all. They seem to use a team system that ensures a great result.
