They had a lovely sign waiting at our table when we arrived that said, " Happy Birthday from Miss Toya's" . The service is impeccable!! Our waiter, Chris, was EXTRAORDINARY! He's professional, kind, attentive and has the BEST sincerest personality. The manager even did his rounds going from table to table to assess our dining experience. He was also quite comical as well. The ambiance was great with really good music playing. The decor is lovely. Now, let's get to the food. . . AMAZING!!! Everything that we ordered was DELISH and we are CREOLE straight from Louisiana so, we really know good Creole cooking and they did not skip a beat. The stuffed shrimp with the succotash were divine, the wings were great and the fried catfish was impeccably cooked. We wanted to order more but wanted to save room for dessert. Unfortunately, because it's a Monday, their dessert menu was limited due to weekend brunch probably selling up everything but we decided to try the Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream and it did NOT disappoint. Let me just say that I live in Chicago and it's been extremely hard to find REALLY good food here in the DMV. Miss Toya's is gonna get my business each and EVERY time that I return to the DMV to visit. Thanks Miss Toya's for a WONDERFUL dining experience!!More infoMiss Toya's Creole House - Silver SpringPrice: Moderate• Creole / Cajun / Southern• Silver Spring•4.5
- TTinaVIPWashington, D.C. Area •85 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe have dined here before and have enjoyed our experience. The wait staff is polite and knowledgeable. We had a late brunch reservation and we experienced many if the staff as the restaurant was between brunch and dinner. I enjoyed the stuffies for the first time and would order again. My husband always orders the clam chowder. We also had the fish sandwich and the crab roll, also very good. We were given an Apple Brown Betty for dessert. I wasn't hungry, but we ate all of it and would have it again. Apples were cooked perfectly and the ice cream very rich The banquet seats are very comfortable and would ask to be seated there . From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a fantastic evening. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was crafted with precision and flavor, showcasing the talent behind the kitchen. Every bite was a delight, and it’s clear that Chef Tobias has created something truly special. A huge shoutout to the bartenders, Mayo and Stephon! They were incredible—not only did they craft amazing drinks, but their energy and hospitality made the night even more memorable. Their cocktails were top-notch, and their friendly, engaging service really set the bar high. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend 1123 to anyone looking for a great dining and bar experience. - TTANDRAWashington, D.C. Area •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe had an amazing Chef’s Table experience at Huncho House last night! We were able to see all of the dishes as they were being prepared and interact with the chefs. Everyone was so cool and the energy was really positive! The food…next level delicious and plated beautifully! We couldn’t decide on just 2 entrees so we ordered 3. For appetizers, we had the crab topped charbroiled oysters and cheesesteak eggrolls. For entrees, we had the Red Snapper, Jerk Short Rib and Seafood Fried Rice with shrimp added. We ordered regular Mac n Cheese and Brussel Sprouts as our sides. Every dish was cooked to perfection and so flavorful! The sauce on that snapper was CRAZY good! Sweet and spicy. Short rib was tender and tasty! The fried rice had salmon on top as well and was a filling dish! The drinks were mixed very well too. We felt special and got individual attention for our whole stay. The chef’s table experience was very worth it! As an added bonus, the owner Tobias Dorzon came in as we were wrapping up our meal. It was cool to have him come through as he continues to recover! Blessings to him for continued healing! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.More infoHuncho HousePrice: Very Expensive• Fusion / Eclectic• Hyattsville•4.5
