Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Mystic

Food was superb. Brussel sprout appetizer was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Halibut was flaky fresh and the sauce was light and accompanied perfectly. Excellent meal

We had a wonderful time, perfect pick for a nice meal with your Valentine! The ambience has always been lovely, food outstanding, and service top notch. Our waitress Tabitha was a rockstar! She constantly came back to fill my water as I arrived so thirsty from travel. Our meal came later than expected so she took the bottle of wine off our bill to compensate. Then she heard my boyfriend say my birthday was the next day and suddenly a beautiful big plate arrived with a lava cake, ice cream, whip cream and a candle ; with “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate on the plate! (On the house!) it was a delightful surprise and brought me to tears. We return here once or twice a year and we will always love Rocks 21, its music, food, staff and will recommend it to others. Thank you Tabitha for making our first night of vacation so wonderful!!!

This was my 3rd time at the George. Food and service never disappoint! Both are exceptional! It’s pricier than other restaurants I typically visit, but it is so worth it! It is super noisy (all three times I have been sat at a 2-person table in the bar area; next time I will request to sit in the dining room area). If you love live music, the bar area is a great place to be, but don’t expect to have both music and conversation; also the locals sitting at the bar area definitely use their outdoor yelling voices to be heard over the music (so if you’re into ease-dropping, this could be your place! lol). In short, the bar is great if you know you’re walking in to a music and conversation room that will limit the amount of conversation you can have at your own table. If you are looking for dinner and conversation, I would not recommend NOT being sat in the bar area.

Food and service was outstanding. The staff are warm, welcoming, and friendly. The ambiance there is beautiful along side the river with soft warm lighting, small fireplace, local artwork, and peaceful atmosphere with a clean, simple, cultural, and natural look. The menu has a creative and eclectic cuisine. Highly recommended.

We had a dinner outing for a group of our colleagues at our business, for our annual retreat. The restaurant was awesome!!!! we received such great service and care in setting up our group reservation, wonderful service, great cocktails and the seafood got rave reviews!!!! Everyone had a super experience, will definitely be there again.
