In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries.     My first time here. Nice large restaurant with two different seating areas. Wonderful ambiance. What is nice about the menu is you can have dinner for a modest cost (i.e, their pizza, Union burger, salads and appetizers) or get more moderate priced main courses. The portions were very decent size. The food came out fresh and nice temperature. The service was very good with the waiter and support wait staff very attentive to our needs. Will be back.

    This was the first time we’d been to Alessandro’s since it was redone. Not for lack of interest; just a tough reservation to get! But it sure was worth the effort. The pace looks great, the service was as good as always and the food was better than I remembered. Best artichoke salad and chicken scarparella! Already can’t wait to go back. Bonus, Alessandro is the lost wonderful host. Always makes it a point to come say hi.

    Churchill’s is a neighborhood gem in RVC. Celebrated New Years Day brunch with my family including two toddlers. Very warm and cozy atmosphere. All staff so kind and friendly. Food tasty and hot. They honor reservations. The price point is an excellent value. $7.00 brunch drink specials even on a holiday.
