Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Mahopac

The Ho Ho Kus Inn is a neighborhood gem -- food is very good, it's got a nice atmosphere, and the service is professional, but friendly. It's nice to have a restaurant like this -- with a liquor license -- in the center of town. The manager was on site and working hard to make sure things went smoothly on the busy night we ate there.

Food was outstanding!! We love the rustic feel and the coziness of a country style restaurant.. The only downside is I think the lighting is too bright and if each table needs a tablecloth, it would make it a bit more cozy and possibly tone down the background noise. Very noisy.. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious!! And the waitress Kim - TERRIFIC!!

My party ended up being seated in the bar since the main dining room was booked for a private function. I had never sat there before and it was perfect (except for the outside door that kept opening a lot and letting in a blast of cold air). They should think about a temporary air lock during the winter months.
