Wonderful service & exceptional meal. The KC strip & shrimp pasta were delicious!

This was the first time my wife and I had been to J. Gilbert's and it was a wonderful experience. I had the Kansas City strip; it was juicy and very flavorful; one of the best steaks I've ever had. My wife had the crab cakes and loved them. Only one downside in the whole meal; the crab bisque soup was just too salty! I should have sent it back. The desserts were very tasty and presented so nicely. I had the chocolate fudge cake; it was soooo good! Service was impecable! We will definitely be back to J Gilbert's.

The restaurant is in a beautiful space. The seating was comfortable, our waitress attentive but not intrusive. The food was fabulous. We both started with an excellent cup of crab chowder. My entree was the scallops in a stew base. I loved it and would definitely recommend. My husband had two small plates instead of an entree, their version of a wedge salad and an Ahi Tuna Tostada. He liked both. We shared a chocolate dessert that was awesome. The only caution is a high noise level. It did not impair our enjoyment but we did lean in to speak across the table. All in all, an enjoyable evening.

Our celebration dinner was a perfect mix of excellent food, a beautiful space and welcoming service. Always a pleasure to go to Paris, and this was no exception. The shrimp appetizer was unlike any we have experienced elsewhere and it was delicious. Salads were fresh and tasty, especially the beets with goat cheese. Pomegranate arils were a perfect sweetness to counter the goat cheese. Our four entrees were all exceptional, and we shared tastes around the table. Salmon, halibut, scallops and lamb shanks. The side of Brussels sprouts was perfectly cooked, simple but tender and flavorful. Then dessert to round out the meal: a glass of port, a sundae, olive oil cake, and my favorite: the best baklava I’ve ever had.
