Best Casual Restaurants in La Canada

Great food, location, ambiance, and experience. This time we needed to stay on the quieter side and the team promptly fulfilled our request. Great experience!

Delectable and delicious! All the ingredients are fresh and crisp! The meats are juicy and well prepared. Our waitress and the staff were very attentive despite the restaurant being so full. The only advice I would give this restaurant is make way for your visitors. We had so much staff cutting us off while walking to the salad bar or the restroom. The one thing I have remembered from very prestigious restaurants is the staff giving the patrons the right of way in the hallways etc. Other than this, it was a wonderful evening with amazing food!

My friend suggested trying PEZ Costal Kitchen as neither of us had eaten there. We made early, 4:30 pm dinner reservations and, upon arrival, not many people were in the restaurant. I was apprehensive but he wanted to stay. The waiters and staff were fabulous on helping us navigate the interesting and surprising menu, as there were things we had never heard of. We started with a few appetizers and each one was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, as were the main courses and the two deserts we couldn’t resist! The food presentation on ALL of our dishes were exceptionally creative. Every dish looked like a piece of art! We realized it wasn’t crowded at 4:30 because it was so early and by the time we left the restaurant, it was packed! This meal was definitely not just dinner, IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE! We will definitely be going back and I highly recommend eating at PEZ Costal Kitchen for an unforgettable experience.

First time for us at Proper, the photos and previous reviews had won us over. Highlights; service was very solid and atmosphere was as the photos led on, very nice. The food; caesar salad, deviled eggs to start - both okay, but lacking any "oh these are good" moments. Entrees - chicken paccata and salmon - too much butter and again, okay, but no, "oh my this is good" bites. The misc; music was in/out and not really heard from our seat making it eerily quiet at times when the music wasn't on. Overall a 3.5 experience.

Our food was delicious! The tables around us needed to be bussed. Many dirty dishes left for up to 20 minutes after customers left. Our waitress was attentive but needed to ask for refill. Overall we will probably return.
