- SSandraNew York City •21 reviews4.0Dined 5 days agoAfter traveling all day and wanting to go somewhere within walking distance I booked Sands Harbor. We were here several times when Rusty Hook owned the place. No whole fish fried with Thai chili sauce, bummer, but the food was pretty good. Grouper bites were good with yummy tarter sauce (always a good sign). My husband got the steak sandwich after toying with mahi tacos. He said the steak was tender and everything that went along was tasty especially the slaw which was plentiful and pretty delicious, also a sign of a good restaurant. I had the steak bites over Spanish rice with chimmichuri which was delightful, not so sure it was Spanish but very tasty. Lots of crunchy flavorful broccoli to balance out the fried fish bites. And the steak was grilled with mushrooms, peppers and onions, all really delicious. We got a bottle of wine and took the leftovers home. Definitely go that route because the glass pours seemed very small. Our server was a little green but super sweet and took great care of us. We sat under the covered area because it threatened rain but none came along. The open air breeze was so nice after coming from CT’s unpredictable now winter type weather, ugh. Great first day restaurant pick for sure. Not a luxury menu and missed that Thai fish dish but satisfying all the same. I hear the flatbread is nothing special. Our server said the vodka sauce pasta was his favorite but we weren’t feeling pasta. Great views of the intercostal with a nice breeze. Can’t go wrong there. Very relaxing and peaceful.More infoSands Harbor Waterfront RestaurantPrice: Moderate• Grill• Pompano Beach•4.3
- EEveVIPFort Lauderdale •167 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoHow do you make the holidays even more celebratory—bring a group of friends to Casa D’Angelo for an elevated culinary escapade! We have been dining here for two decades and have consistently had an outstanding experience because of the stellar cuisine, authentic ingredients, and amazing staff. Michele and his team are so warm and hospitable, and Chef Angelo even paid us a visit, which was a nice surprise! Tatiana was very knowledgeable and friendly as she regaled us with the biblical specials list, each one more intriguing than the next; the fresh spinach ravioli with sage, brown butter, and pine nuts was elegant, the Dover sole kissed with a beurre blanc and toasted almonds was dreamy, and the braised short rib on homemade pappardelle was hearty and sublime! We had a table for 7, yet Tatiana served us with a graceful ease. The fresh pasta with Alba white truffle was another standout—thoughtfully prepared with its delicate earthiness, highlighting the star ingredient. The wine list is beyond generous with its global offerings, we opted for a 2016 Damiliano Barolo that was silky on the palate, an amazing accompaniment. We definitely appreciated Francisco, their knowledgeable Sommelier, who filled our glasses with a smile and even gave a tour of their labyrinth of wines! Of course, no meal would be complete without dessert-the house-favorite tiramisu, rich molten chocolate cake, and fluffy ricotta cheesecake with berries helped us end on a sweet note. Thank you to Chef Angelo, Michele, Tatiana, Francisco and the whole team for another amazing meal!More infoCasa D'Angelo - Fort LauderdalePrice: Expensive• Italian• Lake Ridge•4.8
