- TThomasHawaii •15 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoBasalt serves consistently good food. Service is excellent, especially from their culturally respectful local staff. It's a great hidden gem, even though it's in Waikiki.More infoBasalt Restaurant @ Dukes Lane Market and EateryPrice: Expensive• Global, International• Waikiki•4.5

From the moment we sat down and took in the amazing view to then meeting our server Sarah we knew we were in for an amazing dining experience. Everything Sarah recommended to us was delicious!! The cocktails so refreshing! The entrees mouth watering. I had the flat iron steak special and my husband had the ginger pesto catch of the day. Both entrees were cooked to perfection with the best flavors! They were DELICIOUS! Sarah was an absolute delight!! Her smile lit up the room every time she interacted with us. She provided 10 star customer service! We can’t wait to return in late February to enjoy another amazing dining experience and you bet we will be asking for Sarah!!More infoHula Grill - WaikikiPrice: Expensive• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• Waikiki•4.6
- AAlexHawaii •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt's been a long while since I last came here. I believe is was shortly before 2019's unfortunate pandemic. Anyways, my expectations were surpassed from my memories. The food and service tonight were quite excellent and my birthday dinner guest really enjoyed herself. I, myself, only had 2 of the drinks and had a little of all the food except the Seafood Medley and Oysters. Spiced Apple Crisp: 9/10. I personally really enjoyed this. It had a nice crisp crust and the apples were still not too cooked or soft so it had great textures. The mix of flavors went well together for a great finish to the meal. Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle: 10/10. This is the trademark dessert that should always be eaten at least once. I can't describe how happy I get when I have some (or all). Must have. Coffee Creme Brulee: 7/10. It was good, but we had the Souffle and the crisp. It was outdone and I felt bad for it. I had good flavor and the Biscotti was a nice addition. Espresso Martini: 8/10. I'm not really a coffee drinker so I don't often try something like this. I personally could drink several if it wasn't work in the morning tomorrow. Butterfish Kamameshi: 9/10. Not a traditional kamameshi. It does have the right amount of ingredients to be considered a kamameshi but they are all on top of the rice. I felt this was a pretty interesting take and the butterfish itself was quite tasty. Tender Beef Shortribs: 9/10. Like the name states, they are very tender (boneless!) Shortribs with a nice vegetable Medley. I admit that I had a larger portion of this dish compared to the others. Pineapple Martini: 10/10. This is the right mix of flavors and the Pineapple itself has a nice kick since it is marinated in alcohol. This drink can be dangerous and you'll feel the alcohol later! Lychee Martini: 7/10. Good and refreshing. Unfortunately, it does not compare to the Pineapple or Espresso Martinis. The service was quite attentive even through their busy night and often cleared our platesMore infoEating House 1849 by Roy Yamaguchi - Waikiki, OahuPrice: Very Expensive• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• Waikiki•4.7
- OOffice ManagerSeattle / Eastern Washington •5 reviews4.0Dined on 25 Dec 2024Cons: First staff member (male) to approach our table silently filled our water; no greeting, no invitation to make our way to the buffet. Buffet didn’t have eggs and bacon very undercooked. Coffee was self serve and ran out, making us wait for more to brew. Crab would run out and we’d have to keep checking the line for refill. Saw a guest cutting the prime rib for himself because no one there to serve. Pros: The rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Obviously understaffed and they were doing their best. Fun to speak with the pastry chef, who was encouraging guests to try the stolli, which was delicious. All the desserts and crab was very good. In spite of the shortcomings, we enjoyed our time there.More infoMakana Lani, A Dining ExperiencePrice: Expensive• American• Waikiki•3.3
