If you're going to take your name from a badass like the patron saint of blacksmiths, you better be able to back it up. Baldamar marks the turning point where we usher in the new standard for style, service and steak. It means the menu’s made with old-world craft at its core and modern day meat eaters in mind — with flavors forged in fire and folded into pure primal perfection. It’s where every steak is aged 40 days and 40 nights for a taste of biblical proportion, and where crazy-fresh seafood means it was caught during your morning commute. At the bar sits every spirit imaginable, and someone who isn’t afraid to use them. This is more than a new steakhouse. It’s a line in the sand. It’s not just where you celebrate special occasions. It’s where you create them.*A 20% Service Fee is added to all groups of 8 or more.

We are fine-casual dining with a fire at the core of its heart. Through the smoke and whiskey ashes of the previous iteration which closed its doors in 2020 rises a new haze of smoke and whiskey as we bring back this iconic brand, smoked meats, bourbon, beer, deep hues, and various spaces to a new location in the North Loop. Butcher & The Boar will honor its beloved roots, while spreading new ones in the fresh foundation that will help our guests embark on a journey with notes of nostalgia that carry the torch forward with new tastes and experiences. Not that impressed. Music way too loud. Salad was great, meat was wonderful, server Shawn/Sean (Not sure) attentive, friendly, very good. Sides way over priced. Spicy Lobster mac & cheese, too spicy, 4 little pieces of lobster. Mushrooms were ok. My fillet done to perfection. Both of my Brandy Manhattans were watery.

Initial inspection was pleasant. When you enter the restaurant, you'll see it's well appointed with mostly natural materials (namely stone walls, funky glass vases, and a very pretty open kitchen). The service was attentive, but not overbearing. The only low was the filet tenderloin. While the sauce was delicious, and the visual was amazing, the meat itself didn't quite make the mark. Otherwise, the appetizers and desert were all amazing and performed. In the end, I would highly recommend this as a great fine-ish (not quite casual, not quite fine dining) dining experience.

We went there for a Saturday lunch and it was wonderful. Very quiet with tables of guest all spread out to keep the what little noise there was spread out. Our server was very attentive and happy to give suggestions on favorite foods. When the food came it was plentiful and delicious. Of course the Inn is lovely inside to make it a great place to eat.

My wife and I had an excellent Valentine Day dinner at Axel’s. She had salmon while I the filet. The food was prepared as ordered and served hot. Jennifer and Scott were our servers. They were polite, friendly and stopped by periodically throughout the evening. We will definitely return again.

We went to CRAVE for Valentine's Day and had their Valentine's Day $149 three course meal for two deal. It was great and the food was delicious. Even though it was a three course meal, we didn't feel bloated or super full. It helped that they really paced out when they brought out the food. There were a lot of people but we were able to talk and hear each other. The atmosphere was good and the servers were all very nice and polite. Will most likely go on a special occasion again.
