The Gabriel Archer Tavern was built in 1987 on footprints of an old farm shed. Today, its mission is to provide a memorable farm-to-table dining experience that's both delicious and nourishing. In addition to a half-acre produce garden and greenhouse on site where lettuces and herbs will be grown, our chef works hard to find local farmers as partners in producing a menu oriented towards fresh and seasonal specialties. Our wide variety of fresh selections from our unique menu will guarantee that everyone in your party leaves with a smile.

We enjoyed the evening. Service was good and it was an event. My husband’s fried chicken was good, I wasn’t a fan of the fried trout, the menu was in the 1700 ‘s time period so the selections were all like that. Our garden fresh greens were very good. The spoon bread and corn muffins were also tasty. It was fun and I’m glad we went but the restaurants in town that we ate at in the past were much better.

We often order the Caesar salad and margarita pizza which we split. Both are excellent and they come with a basket of just out of the oven rolls. It is a very delicious lunch for $30.

The beef kebab and the stuffed eggplant were both excellent . Both were served with salad, vegetables , rice and tzatziki making them a complete , tasty meal. The baklava would have been very good had it not been too cold, just out of the fridge. Were it not for it I would have given 5 stars. The service was very very good and friendly , typical of a restaurant run by the owner. We very much appreciated the white linen tablecloths. We will be in Williamsburg for one week and we plan to go back, this time probably for lunch .
