The Longest Standing Restaurant In Greektown, DetroitBrothers Niko and Vasili Dionysopoulos came to America in the late 60’s. They started by selling produce to the Greek churches and then to the businesses in Greektown. They opened Apollo Market on Harper Ave in 1968 till 1970. Then they purchased the Golden Fleece on April 7th 1970. They worked ’till the late 2000’s. Their sons Spero and Yanni took over the family business and remodeled the building and concept after 50 years to continue to give Metro Detroit the authentic Greek experience and hospitality. This was our second time at Bakersfield and it has been great both times. Food is full of flavor and service is friendly. A bit loud for us to talk with our group, but it was right before the crowd was leaving for the Red Wings game, so we should have expected that. We'll be back.

It was our first time at the restaurant and I wasn’t sure where to park. I called from the parking lot and was directed to the parking garage on Pitt and told to park on the 3rd floor as there is a walkway to the hotel/restaurant. This made it very convenient and parking was complimentary. The food was excellent and I received a free birthday dessert 😋Great view of the Detroit skyline!!
