- CChrisVIPNew York City •41 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoNice, quiet brunch spot. Mussels and French onion soup were fabulous. The breakfast American was just ok. Bacon was too thick and double-fried. No bread with eggs which I would have liked. Would return, however. Very pretty and bright interior.More infoCafe Du SoleilPrice: Expensive• French• Upper West Side•4.7
- LLisaVIPNew York City •30 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe were so pleased with our first visit to Carmine's. My husband and I usually travel to NYC alone, and have never gone before because we heard how large the portions are - and they are NOT kidding. There were 7 of us for dinner, and we shared a Caesar Salad, Cheesy Garlic Bread, Rigatoni Bolognese, Eggplant Parm, Veal Scallopini, and Tiramisu and it was perfect portions. Only thing we took home was the Garlic Bread (which the 19-year-old scarfed down likely before it made it to the hotel fridge.) Paul our server was fantastic - happy to see our family reunion the day after Christmas with family from Myrtle Beach. The restaurant is crowded and loud, so expect that - but it's a fun environment and you can tell it's mostly families just having a great time. This dinner capped off a perfect day celebrating the 19-year-old's first Broadway Show.More infoCarmine's - 44th Street - NYCPrice: Moderate• Italian• Theater District•4.6
- CCarolynDenver / Colorado •5 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoLe Monde, a long-time resident of Morningside Heights, was full of festivity and rich, French food on Christmas. The pinot noir was top-notch. My guy had escargot, followed by a duck main course, and I had the salmon over spinach with a sauce I can't remember before we shared a chocolate mousse. We're glad we went early, because a lot of time for digestion was required. Our only criticism was that the guitar-player who sang wonderful tunes, mostly in French, was amplified, and we could barely hear each other. Minus the amplification, this would have been a plus, and I'm sure it was only for the holiday. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and we'd do it again.More infoLe MondePrice: Expensive• French• Upper West Side•4.6
- DDanaDallas - Fort Worth •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoWe plan our trip to NYC around eating at Carmine’s. This time we ate at the upper West Side location. We usually eat at the Times Square location. But this year it was booked solid for Christmas a month in advance. We were wowed again with an awesome meal at Carmines at 91st Street. We had the garlic bread with cheese. We always ask to add the cheese. So wonderful. We also split the lasagna. It is the best we have ever tasted. We brought over half of it home. I would recommend either Carmine’s to anyone wanting authentic Italian food at its best.More infoCarmine's - 91st Street - NYCPrice: Expensive• Italian• Upper West Side•4.7

I urge the Columbia and Mt. Sinai Morningside community to go down just one block below 106th and you might be surprised.More infoMiss SaigonPrice: Moderate• Vietnamese• Upper West Side•4.3
