   The Hula Pie is always a big treat for us and the food was as expected… amazing. The best part of Dukes is the staff. They go out of their way to make dining an enjoyable experience.

   Beautiful location. Wonderful beach view. Great food. Our best overall experience in Kauai. A must go to. Fish specials are great. I had the prime rib. Wonderful.

   The brunch food was not that good. Maybe it is because we came at the end of the brunch hour at 11 am? We paid $50 per person for cold scrambled eggs and cold pancakes. I know we're on an island but even the Caesar Salad lettuce had an odd consistency, like it was grown by AI in a facsimile of what it thought lettuce should be. We paid to be on the beach which was fabulous, as well as our service- our server was wonderful :) Too bad we had the worst meal of our week-long stay, and the most expensive, by the way.

   Duke's restaurant never disappoints. We especially enjoyed the live music. Wonderful food, service and made for a special anniversary celebration!

   Duke's in Kauai is a really nice place - we enjoyed our evening there. The views/setting are fantastic. The Macadamia crusted mongchong was really good, however, the presentation was just so-so - kind of typical in such a large restaurant that the details aren't up to par to a smaller boutique place. The "famous" salad bar was actually just average. Greens weren't super fresh, sides and condiments were all pretty basic - again, it was good just not great. And, although the salad bar was self-serve, items in the back were really hard to reach even though I am 6'1". Our server Bryston tried to be attentive, but made us feel like we were "on the clock". And, I was disappointed when he put the point-of-sale device in front of me for payment for a signature and he had taken the liberty of already pressing the 20% button - that did not go over well. So, all in all, it was worth a try while in Kauai and I'm sure most tourist are fine with all the above. We did come back a couple of days later and really enjoyed Duke's Barefoot Bar on the lower level. Brad is an excellent bartender/server - very pleasant and it was a good experience. We'd definitely go back there.

   We had the best server. She was a delight and such a great people person! Wonderful view and great food, glad we found Dukes.
