We always have a fantastic experience at Drunken Poet. The food is consistently good, the service is prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere is low key and relaxing. We look forward to returning soon!

Usually the service and food here is quite good. This time that was not the case. We went on the day after XMAS and the restaurant was understaffed both in service and food preparation, The food was sent back twice because it was cold. Our server was overly busy and his attention to our table was less than adequate.

Disappointed by Lack of Consistency This was our second visit to Drunken Poet, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. I ordered the Pud Thai Duck and was asked to choose a spice level from 1 to 5. I chose 4, expecting a decent kick, but it arrived with no heat whatsoever. I sent it back, and when it returned, the spice level was barely a 1. The food itself was good, but not good enough to justify the high prices, especially with such inconsistent preparation. The server seemed overwhelmed and indifferent to our concerns, which added to the frustration. We had hoped for a better experience after enjoying our first visit, but this one left us disappointed and ready to find a new Thai spot in Sarasota.

Service was excellent and very attentive. The Sushi, soups and entrees were wonderful and so delicious!! Definitely a repeat visit is in the future!

Food was very good and I recommend the restaurant. We have eaten there many times in the past. I did note that while the food was good, the amount in the dishes was slightly less than previous visits in past years. Probably due to less restaurant traffic because of 2 hurricanes in the area accounting for less tourist traffic.

We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is consistently delicious and the service is great. Our server gave great recommendations for entrees, sushi and wine. It’s one of our favorite spots.
