Best Wine Bars in Bay Park

My wife & I ate here for our weekly date night. Ambience was fair - laminate tables were not in best condition, and chairs were not very comfortable. Music was too loud. Our server turned it down on request, and somebody turned it back up. Caprese included excellent burrata and meaty tomatoes, but also loads of pesto, olive oil and balsamic glaze. Certainly not the traditional Italian presentation. Pasta with sugo & eggplant was really good - cooked perfectly al dente, good sauce, and top-quality eggplant. Shrimp scampi again had perfect linguine and an excellent garlicky sauce, but unfortunately, the shrimp were barely cooked at all - I mean "rare minus" rather than the slightly-under-medium which is in style these days. We had two glasses of wine (Montepulciano and Super-Tuscan) which were excellent, and modestly priced. Service was friendly and attentive.

I love Pali! The wine is also so yummy and the flight is a great way to figure out what you want to drink or just try fun wines! The charcuterie board was really good too, a fun little appetizer. I’ve never had a bad experience here!

I took a couple of 11 year olds in for happy hour to celebrate a birthday, and it was the perfect experience! The girls got some mocktails and had the burger and fries. The fries are as good as they get, and the dipping sauces were heavenly. I ordered fries for myself at happy hour and then at 5:00 when the full menu was available, I ordered a salad. The staff there was super friendly and very sweet to the girls. They brought out some beignets with a sparkler in them for the birthday girl as well. I mentioned in my online reservation where we would ideally like to sit, and they accommodated us exactly how I asked. I’m so glad we chose Wilma’s for the birthday dinner - I think it will be one the girls remember.

Ordered the 12 oz steak and salmon, overall steak was really and salmon was decent. The steak was done and seasoned very well. The asparagus was a bit dry. Salmon was good but the rice and beans were ok.. The cheese board is AMAZING! An individual is enough for two. Drinks are also really good and worth having two or three! Would recommend to come with friends and family. Especially if you have parties of 4 or more.

We went on a day the OB Farmers Market was going on and I'm glad we did. This establishment is very small and doesn't have room for many eat in customers. That said, our server was great in spite of the fact that she was the server and cook- basically running the place by herself. There were a couple of other customers but she handled everything with grace and aplomb. The pizzas we ordered were very tasty and we took advantage of the 50% off a couple bottles of wine and were happy with the selections. All in all we were very happy with our dinner. The only fly in the ointment was the presence of a lot of house flies- no doubt due to the propped open front door. They came in for the food too apparently. Despite that we will be going back as we liked the food and server/cook.
