Bodega SF is an evolution of Matthew Ho’s family's restaurant, Bodega Bistro, which operated from 2003-2017 out of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, serving traditional Northern Vietnamese cuisine. The brand’s success continued as Ho organized pop-up events, eventually transitioning to meal packages throughout the pandemic to meet demand. In 2022, Ho and his partners opened Bodega SF’s brick-and-mortar location, again located in the Tenderloin District, bringing high-quality Vietnamese cuisine back to the community with a modernized, casual fine dining experience. The family-style concept allows visitors to sample its variety of authentic, creative dishes.

We loved the food, the decor, and service.Frankly, everything was perfect. Our only complaint or rather discomfort was the incredible noise. We definitely would like to go back because the food was so good but we’ll probably try to go during the week. Hopefully during the week instead of on a Friday the customers will use their inside voices.

Fantastic food. We enjoyed everything we ate. They were fresh and flavorful. Cocktail was very good as well. We ordered a martini and it had a very nice after taste. Honestly my favorite part though was their desert. It was a pandan mochi cake with a generous size of lychee ice cream. It was a combination I never had before and it was super delicious. I would come back for everything I ate there, especially for that desert!
