- AAnnikaNew York City •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt was my first time at Akira Back for my anniversary and I was taken aback. Firstly, the ambience is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail, a modern design and low lighting - perfect for a date night! Our server Rishi was extremely attentive throughout the night, providing recommendations, free champagne and dessert with a personalized anniversary note handwritten across the plate. She also was so detail-oriented as to fold my fiancé's napkin when he went to the bathroom. Three different servers made a point to wish us a "Happy Anniversary," which we were grateful for. Next, the food was outstanding! I would highly recommend the Grilled Alaskan King Crab (the presentation was stellar and taste was A+) and any of the sushi rolls! The tuna just melts in your mouth. Ugh! We also had the Miso Black Cod which was glazed in a sweet, buttery sauce. The Ribeye was good but not great because all the others were so unique compared to what we're used to when dining out. All in all, I'd highly recommend. Though this is not a cheap place to eat, it's so worth it for a special occasion. Also bonus points for the photo ops in the staircase!More infoAkira BackPrice: Very Expensive• Asian• Entertainment District•4.8
- NNatalieToronto / Ontario •8 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoI can’t say enough about our experience at Gonzo!!!Our party of 3 became a party of 4 at the last minute and the staff was so quick to accommodate, which we really appreciated. The staff was just wonderful overall!! From recommendations to portion sizes and explanations of different dishes we were eager to try, 10/10 hospitality. The food was out of this world. We went in blind and everything we selected was so unbelievably flavourful, the timing was perfect, and the presentation was delightful. Considering the amount of variety and the number of dishes we ordered between 4 people, our total ended up being about $45 a head before tax and tip which was beyond reasonable (we were not drinking but their house special was $9.00 pints of Asahi which isn’t bad!) Thank you to all the servers who made our night memorable and the back of house staff who made a wicked meal. Can’t wait to come back.More infoGonzo IzakayaPrice: Very Expensive• Japanese• Little Italy / College St.•4.8
- JjohnToronto / Ontario •3 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe decided to use Winterlicious to try out Aera. First of all the view is amongst the best in North America , overlooking the city with the CN tower and lakes in full view. Truly breathtaking. Our server was highly attentive. We both started with the Beet and Goats Cheese salad which was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. My wife had the Salmon Pone Bowl with Edamame, Avocado, Quinoa flavoured with ginger and a delicious sauce. I had the Pork Loin Schnitzel with some of the best roasted potatoes I have ever eaten. The star of the meal however was the Sticky Toffee Pudding which came with praline encrusted ice cream, it scored 20 out of 10. From this first experience we have decided to celebrate our anniversary this year with dinner and some nice wine at Aera and to enjoy the full menu experience. I have had the luck through my career to have eaten at many of the worlds finest restaurants, I do not exaggerate when I say I would place Aera in my top 10 for ambience and quality. A real experienceMore infoAeraPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• King West•4.4
