Best Steak Restaurants in Scotch Plains

We drove an hour away from Philly to try this restaurant on Christmas Eve and it did not disappoint in any way. The atmosphere on the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous and the staff are all very attentive and genuine. We started with drinks which there is a WIDE selection of. I ordered the daiquiri martini and it was one of the best martinis I’ve ordered at a restaurant. Not overly sweet, strong but not straight liquor, and great flavor. We ordered spicy scallop, spicy crab and spicy tuna tacos as an appetizer and it was my absolute favorite thing on the menu. I am a big sushi/seafood person and devoured these. For another appetizers, we ordered the prime rib waffle cone tower which was aesthetically unique and SO TASTY. Such a fun choice and not just for show, the flavor was even better than the display. Lastly we ordered the roasted bone marrow which we ate some of on the crostini and left some of it to eat with our steak. I loved the lemon zest on top and there was so much bone marrow to use. I’ve ordered this at other restaurants that charge a ton of money for a tsp worth of food and here they served us two massive bones with at least 4-5 tablespoons or more of bone marrow. For dinner, we ordered the porterhouse special for 2. The flavor was phenomenal, it was cooked perfectly and it was massive. Enough for two AND l leftovers. Tasted amazing with the bone marrow on top. We ordered the berry crème brûlée for dessert and we were also given a complementary shot that tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The crème brûlée was unique and my boyfriend was a huge fan of the flavor/texture of it. They handed out a gift card at the end for Christmas as well. Overall such a great experience and I’m so glad we made the trip out to try it out. We will definitely be back.

Great experience! We have one suggestion, it would be a great idea to serve the baked potato with warmed butter. Overall, great meal.

Haven’t been here to this location in over 25 years probably. It sits next to a Hilton off RT10 just past Capital Grille. I figured since it was older and Capital Grille seems to get a ton of business that it might be very quiet especially on a Sunday. I was very wrong. It looked great inside, the ambiance is perfect and didn’t seem overly loud despite it being very busy. Met my buddy and he had a tomahawk while I ordered an 11oz filet and a separate lobster tail. Everything was perfect from the service to the quality of the food. The hot plate and the flavor of their ovens shows in their steaks. I love both this place and Capital Grille and I’m glad both are flourishing. Don’t sleep on this place though.

Seated on the upper level of the dining room we had a grand view of the Tiffany ceiling, and it was much less noisy than the main floor or the red dog. At the close of the meal we were serenaded by the wonderful Brynn Stanley and her pianist, and we spent a happy hour post meal listening to them perform holiday and jazz favorites. A great way to begin the last weekend before Christmas!

What truly set the evening apart was the way the staff went out of their way to celebrate my wife’s birthday. From the personalized greeting to the thoughtful dessert surprise, it was a moment we’ll cherish forever.
