Of course, after meeting the ever cheerful chef, Dario from Turin, it made more sense. My Polish partner loved it… but I’ll stick to the delicious beef version. Alongside the empanadas we has sweetbreads with chimichurri, perfectly cooked and delicious. After that the ribeye, cod and octopus with polenta. I couldn’t fault a single dish! Paola, our Ecuadorian waitress was brilliant. Chatty and friendly, she happily explained individual ingredients in the spicy version of the chimichurri sauce and the cooking techniques. The ribeye was butter soft and the octopus perfectly charred from the flame. Wines were reasonably priced for London and unsurprisingly an Argentinian Malbec worked very well. We came after the theatre at 9.30, so it was fairly late, but it was also a Thursday night, yet the restaurant was very quiet. Given the quality of the food and service I can only assume that either we were just unlucky, or that this is a result of current economic conditions. Whichever it is, this restaurant deserves to be full all the time.More infoCHIMICHURRISPrice: Moderate• Argentinean• Southwark•4.8

The place was also small and intimate. Would definitely returnMore infoCrudo ShoreditchPrice: Moderate• Latin American• Old Street•4.3

It was also very helpful to be able to order bread mid way through the meal , a tasty specialist butter accompaniment. We are glad we made the trip.More infoCrudo Covent GardenPrice: Expensive• South American• Covent Garden•4.5
- HHowardVIPLondon •42 reviews5.0Dined on 10 Dec 2024At The Bull, it’s all about the steak, and the steak is truly excellent. My ribeye was superb: top quality meat, perfectly seasoned and expertly cooked. My companion’s fillet was similarly impeccable. The dining room is cosy and welcoming, with the feel of a family-run operation. Wine choice is limited and pricey, although the silky-smooth house Malbec was admittedly delicious - and it needed to be, at £47 a bottle. Service was a bit sketchy (mains and sides for two arrived in three stages), but my five-star rating still stands, because at The Bull it’s all about the steak.More infoThe Bull Steak ExpertPrice: Very Expensive• Argentinean• Holborn•4.7
