- SStevenSan Francisco Bay Area •3 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThe food is excellent. Everything was well prepared. Service was excellent. One thing to note, the side dishes are enormous. You should either order a half or be prepared to split it with one or two other people. Another thing, if you order a glass of wine instead of a bottle have them bring it immediately. It is quite cold and it takes a while for a red to warm up to the point where it can be fully appreciated. The rack of lamb has 7 ribs. Be prepared to split it or take some home. Doggie bags were quite common. Another neat trick, their prepared drinks come with dry ice on the glass. It keeps the liquid cool but it does not dilute the flavor as it melts. One last thing. Be prepared for an expensive experience. Two of us with drinks, 2 glasses of wine, 2 half appetizers, 3 half sides and 2 main courses ended up with a bill over $550 including tip. Worth it for special occasions but a lot for any kind of regular thing.More infoMastro’s Steakhouse - Santa ClaraPrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• Santa Clara•4.6
- CChristopheLondon •8 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe food throughout the 4 course dinner was excellent. Each plate was pretty generous in size. The service was spot on and discrete. Had a bottle of French Champagne, so it all ended up pretty pricey for 2 but since it was a special occasion, so why not once in a while. Actually we’ve been going to the Wine Cellar for Valentine’s Day for several years now and it’s always been a very pleasant experience.More infoWine Cellar RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Los Gatos•4.7
- SSteveSan Francisco Bay Area •7 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe hostess was extremely kind and accommodating and sat us inside when our reservation was for outdoor seating. It was pretty cold outside and the vibe was very quiet. They were extremely packed and managed to find us a great table for 2 inside where it was very energetic and fun. Great atmosphere! Our waiter was great, the food was exceptional and I would visit again. This was my first time dining at Forbes Mill. - RRichardSan Francisco Bay Area •39 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe food is creative and beautifully presented. We were there for a prix fixe dinner for Valentine’s Day. The short ribs were wonderfully lean. The dessert was creative and yummy. The portions were perfect. I think they should use more seasoning to make the food pop. There were an annoying number of upgrades, none of which we selected, which ultimately made us feel like cheapskates even though we spent $200 a plate. The cocktails were excellent and wine by the glass was a good value. Overall it was an excellent dining experience.More infoLiraPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Campbell•4.8
