Best Modern European Restaurants in Forest Row

We were the only table in there and we had an excellent time! The 4 staff working were absolutely brilliant and made our night amazing. We turned off the Christmas tunes and had our own playlist. We just had a really lovely time. My seared Tuna was fantastic.

This is true gem in Surbiton and I feel lucky that we have such an exquisite treat on our door steps. The food was exquisite and the service is impeccable and I think very fair in price and value. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place as everything about it is really special. The people who look after you are knowledgable and personable and nothing is too much trouble. You get excellent advice on pairing wines to go with your dishes and the whole experience is effortless and memorable. Have been doing an annual trip for Christmas for a few years now and have been on the odd ocassion at other times and will continue to do this as each time the experience is amazing.

This is by far our favourite restaurant locally. The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable. The food is outstanding, the range of cocktails is very impressive, and they have some really special wines on the wine list. The restaurant was full, but we didn’t feel rushed at any point. Terry the proprietor is just lovely. Working hard to make sure everyone is having a good time. We honestly love it there.

We received prompt and friendly service without fuss. All 3 courses of our a la carte menu choice ( as there were 2 of us, this means 6 dishes tried ) were excellent ( eg. halibut, beef tartare, pork cheek. tandoori monkfish , baked coffee tart ). We expected a high quality of food and service and we were not disappointed. Our white wine was served appropriately chilled. The restaurant was busy in this lead up to Christmas and yet our server took time to explain the menu and courses were delivered in a timely fashion. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable eating experience.

The meal was fantastic, I had hummus then rib eye steak and my wife had mackerel pate and a chicken burger. All of the food was served beautifully and tasted lovely. My only criticism was that it was so nice I ate it all and didn't have any room for the delicious desserts that were on offer! This was also served by a friendly lady who was the perfect waitress (ie checked on us regularly but not too much). I'm sorry but we didn't know her name. We're already planning our next visit.
