Best Indian Restaurants in Chessington

I came across this restaurant by accident… my husband thought I should have a break from cooking Christmas dinner having done it for 48 years.. Family of six and a dog looking for a nice restaurant other than traditional Christmas fare.. And boy did we find this amazing place. I would say in my humble opinion that this is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The menu is small but the flavour is spectacular it’s not about throwing a handful of chillies and calling it a curry it’s about paring the right spices and herbs and making delicious dishes.. Roots definitely know how to do that.. each dish was so different, so fragrant and very tasty too. The tables are dressed beautifully, every detail is carefully chosen to make this amazing restaurant. And a real bonus to be able to take your dog there too..I will definitely recommend this place.. and I will definitely be going back.

The staff were outstanding and went over and above during the meal. The food was great and being able to have a vegan desert was an added bonus.

Ginger and chilli mojito may be the best cocktail I've ever had! Food was excellent, fresh, full of flavour, well presented. Highly recommend

Just had a very pleasant evening at Chakra, the first time I have been there this year and it was as good as I remembered. The food and service were both very good. The decor isn't very lush and the tables could be a bit bigger to better accommodate the dishes we ordered but these are observations and didn't in any way harm our enjoyment.

We are regular visitors and are never dissappointed. The food is consistently good and the prices reasonable. Ali and his colleagues are always welcoming and friendly and very attentive. The resuatuant was busy when we last visited but our food was delivered quickly and with the same consistent quality. We regularly try different dishes and are never dissappointed - though the Harimurch chicken was maybe a dish too far ! VERY hot, although it does state this on the menu. I heartilly recommend this restaurant.
