Best French Restaurants in Scottsboro

Enjoyable dining experience. Good food, and service. Our server, Michelle did a great job.

It has been a while since I've eaten at the Germantown Cafe and as usual, I was not disappointed. The food was excellent my dining companion and I both had the Gumbo with had excellent flavor as just the right amount of kick to warm us on a cold afternoon. Additionally, we shared the crab cake and meat balls which were both fantastic. The only disappointment was that I cannot make crab cakes at home nearly as good. We also split their famous apple pie with cinnamon ice cream which is out of this world. The entire experience exceeded my expectations.

There was only one server and there was a large party in the other room and other diners in the room we were in. It took over an hour to get out food. We wanted the pizza but were told it’s only if you call ahead for it, which is not stated on the site. It’s not the servers fault for being the only one, but this has happened on occasions before. Food is good..but after waiting so long it lost its appeal. This was on a weekday. We will probably return one day, but if it’s like it was next time we will not stay.

So glad that we finally tried this place. After a lot of "meh" meals in Nashville over the past 5 or so years (soooo many steak houses doing the same thing), it was refreshing to see a place getting it right. For us, this is exactly what dining should be: personable and fun with well executed food and good pricing. I wouldn't call it cheap, but you get what you pay for, which is all anyone should expect. They aren't trying to be gimmicky or too hip. They are just doing what they do well. This is in our rotation now, along with Lyra, Yolan, Carne Mare and Bella Napoli...all places that do what they do extremely well without trying to be everything to everyone.

Good food and a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.
