Best Cocktail Bars in La Villita

Excellent steaks, well prepared. Sides were great and vey generous. Service was perfect. All in all, great place for a good meal, right on the River Walk.

As a 15 year plus downtown resident, this is our backyard. With 30 plus years in the hospitality field (now retired) I feel I can bring you real insight into our locations. The good, the bad and the ugly. If we run across a serious issue, I will always go directly to management and not post it. I truly believe you always must give management an opportunity to correct a serious issue. If not corrected and or just ignored, then I feel it is correct to inform the public – professionally. No establishment is perfect. I will bring to you smaller hiccups we may have come across. I will rarely comment on the taste of food – being bad, as that is a very personal thing. My wife and I disagree on taste of food and wine, no one is wrong or right. Now if the food is on fire, burned, under/overcooked to our requests, that would be mentioned. With that said, what a jewel we have found. It was remolded and had not been back (a year ago) It's like you're not in San Antonio. Great vibe, music, food and drinks. Customer service 5 plus. Stephanie's customer service oozed out of her. The hotel is lucky to have her! You can tell it was in her DNA, and yep... to come to find out her mom has worked on property for 20 years! We will be back for sure. Not the cheapest in the area and at a hotel. We didn't mind paying a bit more for the quality of the food and drinks and of course the elevation of service from Stephanie.

Muhammad was an outstanding server. The hostess seating us was very gracious and energetic. Menu is a bit limited to my liking. The chicken fried steak was done well but sauce was too heavy. Meatloaf was also good. Cesar salad had too much dressing and it was too thick. Please lighten it up. Sitting outside was a lovely experience along the river with soft lighting and beautiful patio.

Overall food was good. Reuben egg rolls need some work. Various sausages were excellent. Reuben sandwich was spot on. Schnitzel was very light on the sauce and flavorless. Service was good. Drinks were great and beer was cold.
