Best Chinese Restaurants in Ferntree Gully

In a brilliant location just off Flinders lane. We were seated upstairs which I assume is the main dining area. It was only 30% full at 8pm. The service team were very charming and they were honest and helped us to ensure we didn't over order. We do have a habit of doing that! The food was tasty and the sweet and sour pork with stir fried rice exceptional. This is not a run of the mill Chinese restaurant and it has a small menu. Some of the seafood prices seemed very expensive but we are from overseas so are maybe out of touch.

We opted for the $49 Feed Me meal, which offered 2 large dishes, 2 small dishes and a side. The standout options were undoubtedly the duck and the chicken dumplings. The duck was particularly memorable, with its tender flesh perfectly balanced by a rich sauce that added a depth of flavor without overpowering the natural taste of the meat. The smoky undertones of the duck complemented the sauce beautifully. The chicken dumplings, coated with a rich and smooth peanut chili sauce, were another highlight. This creamy sauce infused the dumplings with a deep, velvety texture and a subtle kick of spice, elevating the dish to new heights. The restaurant's high ceilings and spacious layout contributed to a pleasant ambiance, creating a comfortable dining environment. The service was satisfactory, with the staff being generally helpful throughout our meal. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, and the culinary highlights made it a worthwhile visit

We love the food, great service and staff at Glen Waverley Laksa King. In our opinion the best Laksa King restaurant. Good value, great meeting place for a catch up and delicious food options for everyone. Highly recommended.

The food and service was fantastic could not fault the staff or the food, but omg the music! I believe it was the owner and his girlfriend it was horrendous WAY TO LOUD! I actually had to complain as I couldn’t hear myself think and he decided to take a break we ate quick cause I didn’t want to hear him start again.

My wife and I had dined here as a couple a few times. This time it was with her best friends for her birthday lunch. The food was of its normal very high standard, but with more of us at the table we could choose extra variety. While BBQ Pork Buns are a standard fare, at Secret Kitchen they are the best I have tasted anywhere in the world, with a little extra sweetness just making them perfect. We sampled a range of meat and vegetable dim sum, and nothing was left over. We will continue to make Secret Garden our Yum Cha of choice even though it is a 70km round trip for us. We enjoy Yum Cha at Secret Kitchen so much we are now planning to sample their dinner menu soon.
