Since taking over the venue, we have been working hard to transform the building into a truly special pub, restaurant and coffee house.Whatever reason you may have for visiting us – a healthy or hearty breakfast, a coffee with home-baking beside our wood-burning stove or downstairs with the kids in the play area, fantastic food with family in our restaurant, a glass of wine or a local beer with friends in our bar or on the riverside terrace – we assure you of a friendly welcome from staff who care. Please let us know when you book if you are bringing your dog and we will reserve a suitable table. The Riverside really is our dream come true and we look forward to welcoming you through its doors.Stuart & Jo

Hearing aid users would appreciate a loop to help overcome hearing difficulties. The food was delicious (albeit a bit on the cold side). We all ate from the Brunch menu. Our waitress and All the staff were incredibly helpful.

A lukewarm reception as I don’t think the gentleman who booked us in and took our menus uttered a single world to us when we arrived. He just collected the menus from their storage shelf and headed for the table. Not to worry though as (spoiler alert!) the food was excellent! It’s also fair to say he warmed up once we were seated and looked after us well. Overall I’d say this was a very enjoyable evening. We went for the Festive Set Menu which is terrific value! The portion sizes were generous too. My wife’s turkey was thick, juicy and flavourful and my Flat Iron Steak was perfect. A five star experience, just a pity about the blasé welcome.

The front dining room is being refurbished and where we ate was like a function suite and it felt like it. The waiter was excellent even though he was run off his feet. Food portions maybe a little too big for us older ones and we left quite a lot. Will return once the front dinning room has been refurbished.
