Best American Restaurants in West Reading

11.21.24 Our server was the best part of our visit to Founding Farmers! Her name was Casey D. and she just made us feel so great for being there, at the right time! There were so many people and we thought it might not be the right time but she said please don’t worry. All these people have been served, or their order has already been taken, so we are ready for you! They served us great food and really quickly and we were able to see our movie on time, and we were so grateful! We really just wanted a super green healthy large salad to split and that was the $18.50 all good green salad! Has so much in it! And then my friend wanted to have half margarita pizza and half plain tomato pie and— that’s exactly what the kitchen did! It was perfect, because we had the best of both worlds! That pizza was only 17.99 and it was a thick Sicilian style! But also crispy corners! My friend absolutely loved it! Then we had a great memory of the pan fried potato pierogies, —but it now comes with a spicy dipping sauce, that’s a little bit sweet, and very hot—but I think next time we would get it, not pan fried, but just steamed, with some butter, salt, or sour cream. We forgot to ask… but the pierogies are just 4 for $9.99… never realized that they are $2.50, per each! We got the potato ones… Such a good food memory! This pre-movie snack was just perfect, and it did not break the bank! Also, on the way out as we thanked them, we found the most delicious box of caramel cookie chocolate! Next time we should try the chocolate mints… Looking forward to coming here again! I also remember the purple and black kale salad being really good and we were thinking about it But we were full with all the food that we ate… It was perfect timing for the movie ! Great experience and food!! Had a nice dinner before a show

This was our first time at Salute and I honestly have to say that this is a hidden gem in Berks County. We were here for our 29th anniversary and the owner Giovanni our hostess Stevie and his team went above and beyond to make us feel at home and welcomed.  From the drinks to the appetizers to the main entrees and the desserts (we had 4 different desserts lol) Everything was spot on amazing.  A simple fettuccine Alfredo was the best Alfredo we have ever had in our lives. The chicken Marsala  was perfect. The chicken was like butter, fork, tender, and the mushroom sauce was to die for.  The mussels were absolutely amazing and the broth in the mussels were to die for.  I was mopping up the broth from the mussels with the beautiful Crostinis they gave us.  I can’t believe that we’ve been in Berks County all our lives and had not known about Salute.  Kudos to Giovanni and his team. They were absolutely amazing. We will definitely be returning!!

Kitchen was a bit off today. Entree arrived before appetizer.
