Welcome to Copperwood Tavern, located in Shirlington Village. Our menu offers an array of scratch-made dishes and seasonal flavors along with a selection of handcrafted cocktails, 20 Virginia craft beers on tap, and an extensive selection of bourbons and Virginia wines. Phenomenal experience. It was a first time there and everything was exceptional. We loved our server Karen, she made everything the best!

Great service and good food. We made a reso but before 11 am but it was not necessary; I would still recommend making a reso as it filled up quickly as we were leaving. Def a must try in Shirlington.

We had a group outing where people got stuck in traffic and dropped out at the last minute. Staff were very gracious and helpful in taking care of everyone as they came in. Food is constantly good, very festive atmosphere. Perfect for our needs.

Thanksgiving dinner so there’s that. Seated next to the host stand and I. Oils hear the their chatter throughout the meal. Not great. Ordered the filet mignon medium. Came medium rare. Server offered to have it put back on the grill. I declined. Would have take too long while others were eating. Server forgot another party members meal. After bringing it to his attention they had the meal delivered quickly. Soooo…..too noisy because of the hostess and food was ok. Nothing special like we expected.

Fabulous cocktails - especially the seasonal menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good service - our waiter was attentive and quick. We love Copperwood and will be back again.

My theater group has been to Copperwood Tavern a number of times and will definitely keep retuning. The food and service is always great and there is a terrific variety as well.

All the items on the menu sounded amazing but unfortunately fell flat. The grilled cheese, for example was served with soggy bread on one side, while the short rib was fairly dry. The fried goat cheese was served at room temperature, and the “honey” was so watered down, it may as well been apple juice. The French Toast looked great but it wasn’t custardy at all. Just a bit tough and bland. The short rib benedict was pretty meh as well. The worst part was that at first the server kept rushing us to place an order. When we said we needed a couple of minutes, he just stood there and stared at us. The worst part, however, was the heat. Where we sat happened to be unbearably hot. It felt like we were under heat lamps. We were so uncomfortable, we just wanted to leave. Overall, not the worst, but not somewhere I would like to return to.
