Located on the affluent Great Neck corridor in Virginia Beach, just three miles from the Oceanfront, Coastal Grill is as famous for what isn't on the menu as for what actually is. Owner Jerry Bryan with Executive Chef Maureen Cucchiaro and Chef de Cusine Brad Bates at the stove, offer an extensive list of "blackboard specials," always with a nice assortment of freshly caught regional seafood. This locals favorite has received critical acclaim since its inception over 25 years ago, culminating in being voted the Number 1 Restaurant by Hampton Roads Magazine.                                               Coastal Grill is always great food and service. The clams and the tomato mozzarella apps are delicious and great for sharing. I got my usual favorite at Coastal, which is their salmon. Best I’ve had anywhere.

                                              All the food was so delicious, and our server, Brian, along with his peers, provided friendly and attentive service! Our group of five ordered the blackened Mahi, scallops, trout, and Branzino; everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. The sides that evening were the acorn squash and mini potatoes. They were SUPERB! The ONLY downfall was the fact that one of our friend’s acorn squash was considerably smaller than the rest of ours. We felt bad that he didn’t get to enjoy as much of his as the rest of us did. Other than that slight mishap, we are always so happy with our visits to Coastal Grill!

                                              Requested a table by the window when I made my reservation. Did not get it. New chairs were uncomfortable. Dinner was great, it was good but I have had better in past visits. Every time I have gone to Coastal Grill, it’s the same sides, regardless of what I order. It’s good but maybe change it so it’s not all the same,

                                              We had a wonderful meal, like a second Thanksgiving! Brian served us and he made the meal! Enthusiastic and familiar with the menu, he made our large group feel well cared for.
