   Cipollini Trattoria and Bar in Long Island offers a dining experience that combines great service and a pleasant ambiance, but the quality and transparency of their food left much to be desired on this occasion. The Good: Grilled Baby Octopus: Perfectly tender and flavorful, this dish was a highlight and showcased the chef’s skill. Veal Marsala: A solid choice with well-executed flavors. However, the dish was paired with boiled or sautéed spinach that was bland and uninspired. Potatoes, in any form, would have been a more fitting accompaniment. The Bad: Mussels Amatriciana: While the spicy tomato sauce was appealing at first glance, the inclusion of pork in the sauce—unmentioned on the menu—was a significant issue. It is unacceptable not to disclose such ingredients, given the dietary restrictions many people observe. When we raised this with a table manager, their lack of concern or follow-up felt dismissive and unprofessional. The Ugly: Linguine Alle Vongole: This dish was a disaster. The pasta was undercooked to the point of being inedible, and the clams were overwhelmingly fishy, offering nothing in the way of balance or freshness. The sauce was lackluster, providing no redeeming qualities. This was by far the most disappointing aspect of the meal. Final Thoughts: Cipollini excels in ambiance and service, and some dishes, like the Grilled Baby Octopus, shine. However, glaring missteps with menu transparency and poorly executed dishes like the Linguine Alle Vongole cast a shadow over the experience. Transparency about ingredients is essential, and attention to detail in food preparation is critical, especially at a restaurant of this caliber. Would I return? Perhaps, but with caution—and only for dishes I know they excel at.

   Loud boisterous and fun place to see and be seen. Food options are standard Italian fare with excellent seafood but very well done and seasoned as requested

   We’ve been coming to Cippollini for over a decade and the service and quality is always amazing. It’s just a cool vibe all the way around.

   much too loud. The owners should install padded and Styrofoam ceilings and walls which would absorb the sound and make the environment more comfortable.

   Food and service is generally dependably very good but the noise level really detracts. We have eaten there 3 or 4 times and no matter the day or time of day the noise level varies from really loud to almost unbearable. Tables tend to be pretty close to each other and that probably partly explains the noise level

    so loud you can't carry on a conversation. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and it was cold in the middle. Burger was ok, fries weren't crispy. Grilled octopus was good.
