It has been about 3 years since we visited Chianti's and although there were a few missteps, overall it is still a good restaurant. The 1st issue came when I ordered a gin and tonic. The server asked me if I wanted it "on the rocks." I mean how else do you ever serve a G/T? When it came it tasted a bit off so I asked our server what drink he had brought me. "A gin and soda," was his response. When I told him I had ordered a G/T, he asked me if it was ok. I said yes as they were extremely busy, but the proper response on his part would have been to just remake it. In the past, Chianti's had simply the best calamari appetizer of any restaurant in the Denver area; however, this is no longer the case. The calamari used to consist of both the rings and the tentacles - always very lightly battered and lightly fried as well. They were oh-so delicate and lightly crispy, while keeping their tender interiors. Now they have replaced the tentacles with zucchini and substituted large, thick-cut squid rings for the previous ones. They are all still lightly battered and fried but while the zucchini was delicious, the rings were very rubbery. Needless to say, we flagged down our server and apprised him of the situation. He immediately offered to have them redone to which we agreed. Sadly, the second batch was no different, so we ended up skipping the appetizer altogether. I ordered a second drink and reiterated to our server it was a G/T. Once again, I was brought a gin and soda. I gave up. Our entrees though were quite wonderful. My wife had the Ravioli Salsiccia and I the Veal Satimbocca alla Romana. Both were delicious and well prepared. My only complaint was that last time we were there (granted, it was 3 years ago) they asked me what side I wanted (fettuccine alfredo) and it was complimentary. This time when they asked what side I wanted, I ordered the same thing - not realizing it was an $8 upcharge.  The bread is also no longer complimentary. Times sure have changed.

Nice, small Italian restaurant. Many food options especially non-pasta dishes, which is rare. Outstanding service.
