   This was definitely a charming dining experience. The decor was very festive and inviting. The holiday menu was everything you could possibly want. The music contained many French songs so it reminded me of my most recent trip to Paris. It was an overall beautiful experience with delicious food and good choices

   We did enjoy our dinner but were very surprised that it was a pre fixe meal. I was never told that at any time I was in touch with the restaurant prior to our reservation. Other than that, we would definitely go back!

   We were excited to eat here but disappointed with the food. We went for Christmas Eve and there was a set menu (3 courses) for $85 a person. The appetizers were all good, but the issues started with the entrees. First my duck had a very different kind of orange sauce than I have never had with duck and didn’t enjoy. The lamb my wife had was cold when it was served and had to be reheated. Also she was disappointed with the taste of the dish, which was surprising as she loves lamb. The filet that another member of our party got was just ok according to him. Additionally they advertised a kid’s menu for $25 each but you didn’t know the options until you got to the restaurant. It was either 5 chicken tenders or several deep fried mozzarella sticks. To say I was disappointed with the minimal options for kids is an understatement. Everyone at our table got crème brûlée for dessert which was supposed to have orange zest and grand marnier in it. One guest that loves Grand Marnier said they couldn’t even taste it. I personally was surprised to start chewing strips of orange peel in something that is supposed to have orange zest in it. I left about a quarter of the dessert, which I have never done with crème brûlée. The service was good and they were attentive but the food was lacking, hence the 2 star overall rating. For a meal that cost 4 adults and 2 children about $570 this overall was a complete disappointment.

   Our first visit to Chez Marie was in April of 2024. Our experience could not have been better. Our second visit -- this current one -- was a tremendous disappointment. It was almost like a different restaurant. We ordered the escargot appetizer, which had been excellent on our previous visit. This time, it was served on a metal dish and was covered by a green substance. The escargot were barely warm and almost tasteless. There was no interval between appetizer and service of the entree (unlike the previous visit). The duckling, again a repeat of our previous meal, was tepid and served in an orange sauce plopped on the plate. The skin wasn't crisp and the duckling was almost tasteless. A saving grace was the desert, the chocolate fondant cake, which was outstanding, delicious. The wine that we had was excellent. The pace of service was so rapid that we had enough wine left to drink with our desert, instead of ordering coffee.

   Merveilleux! I lived in France for years and this is the closest that one can get in this part of Florida. Delicious food and a great welcome from Marie and her team. Merci!
