   We had a reservation for 12 guests two weeks prior to the date. Selected a menu ahead of time and provided credit card information. 45 min before the reservation I received a call and notification that our reservation has been canceled due to an unexpected private event. Absolutely unheard of and not amenable or apologetic. I have lived in this city for over 40 years nothing like this has ever happened.

   We had a reservation since we are visiting from out of state and our reservations were screwed by a bunch of drunk Santas who turned the whole place into a club. They weren’t even serving dinner because of Santacon. So disappointing and we were left with no alternative for the night.

   We got on the wrong train and arrived a few minutes late to our reservation. They sat us right away, no problem. Food came out very fast and was delicious. Highly recommend!

   Great place! Affordable and great food. The only thing I found hard, literally, was the stools. Not butt-friendly and not short-friendly. Otherwise great!

   Chose this for convenience because we had tickets at a venue across the street. Food was good, but nothing particularly special. Server was not rude, but not at all friendly either.

   We were told there would be complimentary champagne for date night with my partner and there was none. We were forgotten about a few times as well throughout the night.

   Food = amazing, delicious. Bartender and bus boy = fabulous people. Waitress = worst waitress i’ve ever had in my life. This was my first time in New York. Made a reservation for 9:45 and was unaware the kitchen closed at 10:30. First of all, waitress was extremely inattentive. When we placed our appetizer orders, we said we would be ordering pasta after. It’s 10:38 and she still hasn’t come back to the table after receiving the appetizers. I then tried to place a pasta order when she informed me the kitchen had already closed and when we brought it to her attention that we were unaware the kitchen closed at 10:30, she proceeded to just stand at the table and stare at us. No apology, no solution, nothing. I tipped her $0 the service was so bad and I always tip over 20% because I work in the service industry. Other than that, the food was so good and the bartender and busboy provided excellent service. The End.

    I love Carroll Place. Their staff is always so sweet and patient and the value is great. We love doing celebrations here :)
