Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests abundant portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Carmines has become a Christmas tradition and yesterday didn’t disappoint. We had plenty of delicious food, a waitress who was attentive but not overbearing. a table that allowed for conversation and time to enjoy our dinner.

Always a good time and the consistency between restaurants is evident. We just returned from their location in Vegas and the experience was remarkably similar.

The restaurant was absolutely hopping when I arrived, and pretty much stayed that way during the meal. Once seated, things went very well. The server was absolutely outstanding: friendly, the right amount of attentive, and helpful with suggestions. She made the experience a very nice one. Thanks (and sorry I didn't ask for your name so I could give you a shout out). I had pasta with a white clam sauce, which was very nice. The staff warned me repeatedly that the portions were very generous, and they were right. I was no where near finishing my enormous portion, and since I was staying at a hotel in town, unable to take the rest away with me. The wines and drinks selection was nice, and the house Pinot Grigio I ordered meshed very well with my pasta. I would recommend Carmine's for anyone wanting a very hearty meal in a friendly, lively environment. I'll go back there next time I am in DC.
